RMKS/1. This ALNAV announces the 2024 Calendar Year call for nominations for the Zachary and Elizabeth Fisher Distinguished Civilian Humanitarian Award (Fisher Award). The Fisher Award is presented to one individual/organization (not employed by the Department of Defense) who exemplifies Zachary and Elizabeth Fisher's personal qualities of patriotism, generosity, and selfless dedication to members of the U.S. Armed Forces through an outstanding humanitarian act of service.
The Department of the Navy (DON) may send forward one recipient.
The deadline for DON submission of approved recipient packages is
close of business on Monday, 9 June 2025.
The command submitting the nomination of the awardee will pay for travel and per diem to the awards ceremony, tentatively scheduled for late 2025. Commands of the awardees must provide General Officer/Flag Officer command endorsement to the Director, Navy Staff or the Director, Marine Corps Staff for Service processing.
The Services will promulgate additional information as required.
